OUT V3

Befaco 4HP

Stereo master output. Two 1/4" TRS balanced line outs · dedicated headphone amp with independent level · CUE input for pre-listening; Main/CUE source switch routes either to the phones bus.

Mono jam on a stereo rig
Final VCA → L IN only · Source MAIN · Phones up · L IN normalizes to R internally so the same signal reaches both balanced outs and both cans · single-cable master-out for mono patches

Silent cue a new voice
Main mix → L IN + R IN · Source MAIN during performance · a second voice/sequence → CUE IN · flick Source to CUE to pre-listen the new voice in headphones while the audience still hears the main mix · flip back to MAIN and bring the new voice in via the main mixer

Behaviors

Mono to stereo normalization L IN patched with R IN unpatched

A cable in L alone sends the signal to both L OUT and R OUT, so a mono bus feeds centred stereo without a mult. Patching R breaks the normalization for true stereo.

CUE pre-listen without interrupting main mix Source switch flipped to CUE

The headphone amp switches to the CUE IN jack while the main 1/4" outs keep playing the L/R signal untouched. Use it to audition a sequence, effect send or new voice in headphones before bringing it up on the main mix.

Clip indication per input input signal exceeding headroom

LEDs on L IN, R IN and CUE IN light as signal present and redden as the stage approaches clipping. Tune modular gain upstream until peaks stay out of the red for clean balanced output.

Balanced TRS outputs connecting TRS cable to L OUT / R OUT

Both main outputs are impedance-balanced 1/4" TRS. Use TRS cables into balanced mixer/interface inputs for best noise rejection; TS cables still work but drop to single-ended level.

AC-coupled inputs patching DC signal to L / R / CUE

All three inputs are AC coupled, so slow LFOs or DC offsets are blocked and cannot reach the outputs. OUT V3 is strictly an audio interface — do not use it to send CV to an external destination.

Independent headphone path headphone amp always active

The phones amp sits on its own dual-gang pot downstream of the Source switch. Main Level can go to zero while headphones still monitor, useful for silent practice through the case.

I/O

IN · 3

  • L IN ±10V modular
Left channel modular-level input. AC coupled. Mono signals here appear on both main outputs when R is unpatched.
NORM → routed to R channel internally when R IN is unpatched
  • R IN ±10V modular
Right channel modular-level input. AC coupled. Breaks L-to-R normalization when patched, giving true stereo.
  • CUE IN ±10V modular
Auxiliary mono monitoring input. Routed to the headphone amp only when Source switch is on CUE. Never reaches the main outs.

OUT · 3

  • R OUT balanced line · +4 dBu nominal AUDIO
Right 1/4" TRS balanced output at line level.
  • Phones headphone level
1/4" stereo TRS headphone output driven by the onboard amplifier. Source selected by the Main/CUE switch.
