- Make sure MIDI is reaching the case (USB or DIN into the MIDI IN Jacks / 7U / Palette).
- Press LEARN once — the button glows solid blue.
- On your MIDI controller, play a note on the channel you want (e.g. Ch 1). LEARN turns off; Synth 1 is locked to that channel.
- Patch MIDI 1U PITCH → VCO 1V/oct input.
- Patch MIDI 1U GATE → envelope Trig/Gate in.
- Patch the envelope Out → VCA CV in.
- Patch MIDI 1U VEL → a second VCA CV in (or the same VCA's second CV) so loud notes get louder.
- Play the keyboard — each note should track pitch and open the envelope.
1U USB/DIN MIDI-to-CV interface for Intellijel cases. Converts MIDI pitch, velocity, mod, CC, gate, trigger, and clock to CV. Single or Dual synth mode. Expandable to 10 synths with CVx modules.

- Long-press LEARN (>2 sec) — LEARN glows yellow, module is now in Dual Mode.
- Press LEARN once (it turns red), then play a note on your Synth 1 channel (e.g. Ch 1). LEARN returns to yellow.
- Double-press LEARN (it flashes red), then play a note on your Synth 2 channel (e.g. Ch 2). LEARN returns to yellow.
- Patch PITCH → VCO 1 (1V/oct) and GATE → Env 1 Trig for Synth 1.
- Patch MOD → VCO 2 (1V/oct) — this is now Synth 2's pitch.
- Patch TRIG → Env 2 Trig — this is now Synth 2's gate.
- Optionally patch VEL → VCA 1 CV and CC → VCA 2 CV (CC is Synth 2 velocity in Dual Mode).
- Play both channels from your DAW/controller — two independent mono voices.

- Start MIDI clock from your DAW or hardware sequencer into the case's MIDI IN.
- Press CLK÷ repeatedly until the LED blinks at quarter-note speed — this is the /24 setting.
- Patch MIDI 1U CLK → your sequencer's Clock In.
- Patch MIDI 1U RST → your sequencer's Reset input (RST outputs a trigger on MIDI Start/Reset by default).
- Press Play in your DAW — the sequencer should snap to beat 1 and advance one step per quarter note.
- If you want half notes or 16ths, press CLK÷ again to cycle (/48 = half, /6 = 16th, /12 = 8th, etc.).

- Set up a basic mono patch first: PITCH → VCO, GATE → envelope → VCA.
- Press LEARN twice — the button flashes blue (LEARN MOD+CH mode).
- On your controller, move the mod wheel on the channel you want (e.g. Ch 1). LEARN turns off; MOD jack is now assigned to CC 1.
- Patch MIDI 1U MOD → filter cutoff CV input.
- Set the filter cutoff manually to a fairly closed position so there's room to open up.
- Play and push the mod wheel up — cutoff opens. Pull it down — cutoff closes.

Behaviors
Controls one monophonic synth on a user-selected MIDI channel. Outputs PITCH, VEL, MOD, CC, GATE, TRIG, CLK, RST. CC and MOD jacks assignable to any MIDI CC or aftertouch.
Controls two monophonic synths on separate MIDI channels. PITCH/VEL/GATE = Synth 1; MOD/CC/TRIG repurposed as PITCH/VEL/GATE for Synth 2. LEARN button glows yellow in Dual Mode.
Module awaits any incoming MIDI message and locks to that channel, also assigning the CC jack to that CC number. Settings auto-saved after 2 seconds of MIDI inactivity.
Pitch output slews when portamento is enabled via standard MIDI CC messages. Time set by CC 5.
Up to 4 CVx expanders add 8 assignable outputs each (32 total extra jacks), enabling polyphonic, drum, and multi-channel operation up to 10 synths on 10 MIDI channels.

CVx 14HP
1U expander for Intellijel MIDI 1U. Adds 8 fully assignable CV/gate outputs via I2C. Chain up to four CVx for 32 outs and 8 extra synths (mono, poly, or drum). Jacks configured in Intellijel Config app.
Behaviors
Connecting one CVx raises MIDI 1U's synth count from 2 to 10. Synths 3–10 can be configured as monophonic, polyphonic, or drum (note-mapped).
When multiple outs on the same CVx (or chained CVx) are assigned to the same Poly synth, voices are allocated across those outs — up to 8-voice polyphony with per-voice Pitch/Gate/Velocity.
Each out on a Drum synth is bound to a specific MIDI note number and fires Gate, Trigger, or Velocity when that note arrives — for sample-kit trigger buses.
Any out can be re-purposed as a CC CV (uni/bipolar, optional High-Res), Aftertouch CV, extra Clock (arbitrary division 1–192), Reset, or Run gate.

- In Intellijel Config, Synths column, set Synth 3: MIDI Channel = 1, Type = Polyphonic.
- Expander 1 column: Out 1×1 → Output Type = Pitch, Synth = 3.
- Repeat for Out 1×2, 1×3, 1×4 → all Pitch, Synth 3 (this gives 4 voices).
- Out 1×5 → Output Type = Gate, Synth = 3. Repeat for Out 1×6, 1×7, 1×8 (4 gates, one per voice).
- Patch Out 1 → VCO A 1V/oct, Out 2 → VCO B 1V/oct, Out 3 → VCO C, Out 4 → VCO D.
- Patch Out 5 → EG A trig, Out 6 → EG B trig, Out 7 → EG C, Out 8 → EG D (each EG drives its own VCA).

- Keep Synth 1 (MIDI 1U) as Monophonic on channel 1 — Pitch/Gate/Vel come off the MIDI 1U panel as usual.
- Expander: Out 1×1 → Output Type = CC, CC Number = 1 (Mod Wheel), Synth = 1, CV Polarity = Unipolar 0–5V.
- Out 1×2 → Output Type = Pressure (Aftertouch), Synth = 1.
- Patch MIDI 1U Pitch → VCO 1V/oct, MIDI 1U Gate → EG trig.
- Patch CVx Out 1 → VCF cutoff CV (mod wheel opens the filter).
- Patch CVx Out 2 → VCA CV or a second VCF input (aftertouch adds emphasis when you press keys harder).
- Play — mod wheel sweeps the filter, pressing harder on a controller with aftertouch adds colour.
