Behaviors

Clip LED Warning summed mix level peaks

Single LED between MIX L and MIX R lights when either bus clips. Chaining multiple Mixups makes overdrive more likely — drop LEVEL knobs when it lights.

Mono Normalization on Stereo Inputs IN 3R or IN 4R unpatched

IN 3L and IN 4L each act as mono inputs summed to both L and R busses when their right partner is empty. Plug one cable for mono centre placement; add a second for true stereo.

Chainable via Rear Link CHAIN-OUT to another module's CHAIN-IN

3-pin Link bus carries stereo mix to another Mixup, a Stereo Mix 1U, Outs module, v2 Headphones 1U, or directly to case audio jacks on Palette / 7U cases. Six jacks effectively grow to sixteen across two cascaded Mixups.

Unity-Gain Aux Input signal patched to IN 4L/R

IN 4 has no level knob and no mute — a permanent always-on stereo return, ideal for a reverb/delay return or a DAW line that should never accidentally drop out.

Audio-Only AC Coupling always

Unlike DC-coupled utility mixers, Mixup is AC-coupled and designed for audio. Do not use it to sum CV — offsets will be filtered out and muting will click less but CV won't pass cleanly.

Headphones 1U Jumper Removal chaining into Outs or v2 Headphones 1U

When Link-chaining into an Intellijel Outs module or v2 Headphones 1U, the destination module's JP1 jumper must be removed — Mixup already handles the L/R normaling internally.
