Three-voice stereo submix
Three stereo voices into CH 1-3 · main OUT to outboard · short signal path keeps transients intact.
Walkthrough
  1. Set all three Level knobs fully CCW (muted) before patching.
  2. Patch Voice 1 OUT L → Hyrlo CH 1 L, and Voice 1 OUT R → Hyrlo CH 1 R.
  3. Repeat for Voice 2 into CH 2 L/R and Voice 3 into CH 3 L/R.
  4. Patch Hyrlo OUT L → mixer/interface L, Hyrlo OUT R → mixer/interface R.
  5. Bring up CH 1 to about noon, then CH 2, then CH 3, balancing by ear. The signal LEDs confirm each channel is alive.
Signal out OUT L / R — full stereo mix at line level, ready for an interface or recorder.
Listen for All three voices summed in true stereo. Pulling any cable from a channel's R input collapses that voice to centre; reinserting opens the stereo image again.

Six-mono mix via two Hyrlos
Two stacked Hyrlos give six mono channels in 8 HP — drums + bass + pads in one skiff.
Walkthrough
  1. Mount Hyrlo A (master) and Hyrlo B (sub) side by side. Levels all CCW.
  2. Patch each mono drum to Hyrlo A's CH 1 L, CH 2 L, CH 3 L (R is left empty so each source is centred).
  3. Patch bass / pad / lead to Hyrlo B's CH 1 L, CH 2 L, CH 3 L.
  4. Patch Hyrlo B OUT L → Hyrlo A CHAIN IN L, and Hyrlo B OUT R → Hyrlo A CHAIN IN R.
  5. Patch Hyrlo A OUT L/R to your interface. Bring up channels on B first (sub bus level is set by each B fader), then on A.
Signal out Hyrlo A OUT L / R — six mono sources summed to stereo.
Listen for Six independent mono voices in one centred stereo image. Hyrlo B has no master fader, so each B channel's knob is its own bus level into A.

Dry + two stereo FX returns
CH 1 dry voice · CH 2 reverb return · CH 3 delay return · blend wet/dry on the front panel.
Walkthrough
  1. Send the source voice to a 1-to-2 mult (or your sends) so one copy goes dry and the others feed the FX.
  2. Patch the dry copy → Hyrlo CH 1 L (R empty, so it sits centre).
  3. Patch the reverb's stereo return → Hyrlo CH 2 L and CH 2 R.
  4. Patch the delay's stereo return → Hyrlo CH 3 L and CH 3 R.
  5. Patch Hyrlo OUT L/R to the interface. CH 1 sets dry level; CH 2/CH 3 are independent wet faders.
Signal out OUT L / R — dry voice plus stereo reverb and delay returns mixed together.
Listen for A centred dry voice surrounded by stereo wet returns. Pulling CH 2 down kills the reverb without touching the delay, and vice versa — quick A/B of each effect.

Drum sub-bus through outboard glue
Drum mix on Hyrlo A → external compressor → Hyrlo B CHAIN IN — bus-glue your kit before it hits the master.
Walkthrough
  1. On Hyrlo A patch kick/snare/hat to CH 1 L / CH 2 L / CH 3 L. Levels start CCW.
  2. Patch Hyrlo A OUT L → Compressor IN L, and Hyrlo A OUT R → Compressor IN R.
  3. Patch Compressor OUT L/R → Hyrlo B CHAIN IN L/R. Hyrlo B's CH 1-3 are still free for bass / synths.
  4. Patch Hyrlo B OUT L/R to your interface.
  5. Drive the compressor with Hyrlo A's three faders; set Hyrlo B's chain bus by adjusting the compressor's makeup gain (CHAIN IN has no fader).
Signal out Hyrlo B OUT L / R — bus-compressed drum sub plus uncompressed CH 1-3 sources.
Listen for Drums sound glued and a touch tighter while bass/synth on Hyrlo B stay clean. Bypass the compressor to A/B; raise A's individual faders to push more drums into the compressor harder.

Stereo synth + two mono drums in 4 HP
CH 1 stereo synth (L/R both patched) · CH 2/3 mono drum sources (L only, auto-centred) — entire jam in one 4 HP module.
Walkthrough
  1. Patch your stereo synth's OUT L → Hyrlo CH 1 L and OUT R → Hyrlo CH 1 R.
  2. Patch mono Drum 1 → Hyrlo CH 2 L (leave CH 2 R empty so it centres).
  3. Patch mono Drum 2 → Hyrlo CH 3 L (leave CH 3 R empty).
  4. Patch Hyrlo OUT L/R to your interface.
  5. Bring up CH 1 first to set the stereo bed, then CH 2/CH 3 to taste. The signal LEDs flash with each drum hit.
Signal out OUT L / R — wide stereo synth with two centred mono drum voices on top.
Listen for A wide stereo pad with the drums punching through the centre. If you later patch a cable into CH 2 R, the snare jumps off-centre — useful for hard-pan tricks.

Behaviors

L → R mono normalling patch L jack only on a channel

Each channel's L input normals to R. A mono cable in L sends the same signal to both sides of the stereo bus, keeping the channel centred. Patching R breaks the normal and opens true stereo.

Daisy chain expansion patch one Hyrlo's OUT L/R into the next Hyrlo's CHAIN IN L/R

Hyrlo's OUT can feed the next unit's CHAIN IN, building 6-, 9-, 12-channel stereo buses from stacked 4 HP modules. The downstream module's OUT carries the full sum.

Flippable panel reverse panel orientation at install time

Symmetrical faceplate lets the user mount the panel rotated 180°. Jacks and pots still align; cosmetic variant only. No signal-path changes.

AC-coupled audio path patching CV into an input

All inputs and the output are AC-coupled, so DC offsets and slow CV are blocked. Use a dedicated CV mixer for control voltages.

Per-channel signal LED audio present on a channel

A small LED next to each level knob brightens with the post-fader signal of that channel — quick visual check that a source is alive without unmuting the master.

I/O

IN · 4

  • CH 1 L / R line / eurorack audio · AC-coupled AUDIO
Stereo pair input for channel 1. Patch only L for mono (R follows L). Patch both for true stereo source.
  • CH 2 L / R line / eurorack audio · AC-coupled AUDIO
Stereo pair input for channel 2. Normalling identical to CH 1.
  • CH 3 L / R line / eurorack audio · AC-coupled AUDIO
Stereo pair input for channel 3. Normalling identical to CH 1.
  • CHAIN IN L / R line / eurorack audio · AC-coupled AUDIO
Daisy-chain input. Sums an upstream Hyrlo (or other stereo source) into this module's output without using a CH 1-3 fader.

OUT · 1

  • OUT L / R eurorack audio · AC-coupled AUDIO
Main stereo mix of CH 1-3 plus CHAIN IN. Transparent, low-noise summing.
